The following example will illustrate one of the many ways this chart can be used.
EXAMPLE:
To determine the amount of taper per side for a cavity, lets say having 2 degrees for a depth of 7/8".
In the DEPTH column, go down to 7/8 and then across the row to the column showing the 2 degree taper.
The amount of taper shown is .0306".
This means that the cavity dimension on the bottom would be twice the taper (.0306 x 2 =.0612") less that the dimension of the top.
This table may also be used for depths greater than 1", i.e. 1 1/2" depth, by adding the figure for 1" to the figure for 1/2".
